two of my favorite bill withers records. there is something uniquely satisfying about this guy, for me anyway. the music is fantastic but there is a countryfied emotional quality to these songs that i cannot compare to anything else. bill is the man.

Hi, Jean. Next lines were at CIA's Discussion section. Just in case you have missed them:
Alberto Cos said…
“Are you ready for this?”
Duke Ellington in concert,
tom-toms in the background,
introducing the Togo Brava Suite.
Introduction to this section says open to free-form discussion, tech stuff, whatever... Let's see how free this works out.
Imagine six days ago a certain A guy surfing the net discovers a Russian blog with lots of jazz in it. Well, that’s great and he gets the user name and password which let him in. However, after some browsing he realizes many records posted there were already posted at CIA and the jazzman’s place –two jazz blogs he visits and posts comments frequently, and even he contributes-, and further than that, lots of times the RS links to download the records are the same.
Imagine then this A guy writing an-email to a certain B guy, who manages CIA, giving these details plus another surprising one: apparently, one of the bloggers in the Russian spot, Roland Cobb, http://www.blogger.com/profile/03912269742434253721, has even contributed at CIA’s Contributions 2 - http://andifyouhadtwocoats.blogspot.com/2008/08/contributions-ii.html.
Simultaneously, the A guy sends next ironical lines to that Cobb subject:
“Why do you steal CIA and jazzman posts and links?
Is that a common practice in your family?
Does it make you feel good?
Is it a special treatment or therapy you need?
Childhood problems, maybe?
Any kinda unspeakable complex, perhaps?
Make sure this mail goes to beleu and all those colleges of yours as I'll do to everybody at CIA and the jazzman,
A guy”
Going on through this imagination trail, figure what’s A guy surprise when several hours later he receives next lines from B guy:
“Incidentally, Leicht, you formerly were reporting me to the police, and now you are informing on Russian bloggers?
Note this; they mention my name when they post things, unlike your pal (I've had a few of his things sent to me) who downloads stuff from CIA, puts his name on the pictures, re-uploads it with a password, and then posts them as his own.
Too bad he forgot to remove the word Pomegranate from some of the files.
Say hello to Henry Smits for me.”
Whoa!
After recovering of those shocking words, the A guy decides to try the undoing of what is –no doubt about that- a misunderstanding, and he writes back the next to the B guy:
“Leicht?
Sorry, B guy. I don't speak Russian pero hablo español muy bien. Estás en un error si piensas que soy Leicht y que conozco al tal Henry Smits. Nunca reporté a la policía -how can you say that, man? When I saw it I thought it was good to know, that's all -in fact, I have written a mail to Rolando Cobb asking why he was stealing posts and links from CIA and the jazzman's, an ironical one I have to say, but if he has permission from you then we both, you an I, we are in an error of the same genre: false suspicion. I'd like you not to be mistaken...
By the way, what's your vintage? Same as boy behind Bud? Mine, 1962, Barcelona born and grown, living in Madrid, Spain.
Still on Peterson's Song Books.
Jamalianly yours,
A guy”
No answer. From that moment on, the A guy goes on commenting those new posted records at CIA he downloads, but now he always includes brief spots which directly go to the B guy’s behaviour concerning the situation. Seeing comments are systematically erased, in a new effort he sends next e-mail:
Hi, B guy,
The absence of answer to my last e-mail and the deleting of my two last comments posted to Phineas Newborn Jr.'s Solo Piano and Jamal's The Awakening -as most of mine, comments which went further to simple thanks- tell me that you are still confused about me.
In order to enlighten the situation I enclose to these lines 4 screens related to messages between you and I, and the one I sent to Roland Cobb -what can I say: I really felt offended for that cheeky theft. Printed pages come directly from my gmail account and they include day and time they were sent or received. As you can see, after my second message to you concerning this subject -the one titled Clevers- sent 8-jun-2008 at 9:57 Spanish time, I posted the ironical one to Roland Cobb 8-jun-2008 at 10:00 -what is to say, three minutes later- several hours before you surprised me with yours 8-jun-2008 at 19:22 Spanish time attributing me Leicht personality.
I ignore what makes you think what you think, but I'm ready to do whatever you needed to change your mind. My love for jazz music and my appraisal and respect for both the blog you manage and the work you and all participants do are beyond question. I've only posted once -Rev. Robert Ballinger's Little Black Train- and I've almost finished five OP missing on CD Song Books project -and such a surprise, you've started today with what it went to be, believe it or not, the third one: RCA Fats Waller And His Rhythm 15 CD's -3*3 + 3*2- and in this sense, if you hadn't all of them I surely could complete the series.
You have my cellular number -from there 011 34 - and I could give you my home number and post mail address in Madrid if that helped the case. All this makes me sad but, at the same time, I'm close to 46 and have not so much free time to insist.
I wish you could make up your mind, Mr. B guy, and finally not being lost in the mirror (sorry, man, I didn't started the joke!) anymore, at least concerning who I am -as I beg you not leaving this message unanswered, please.
Jamalianly -by the way, in case of emergency I have all 1951-1955 Jamal's work for EPIC and ARGO: how great and admirable he was then!- yours,
A guy.-
The B guy persists in no answering and, at the same time he not only insists in deleting the A guy’s comments, but starts giving him troll treatment, to finally post his comment on Sahib Shihab - And All Those Cats - http://andifyouhadtwocoats.blogspot.com/2007/09/sahib-shihab-and-all-those-cats-1998.html- on the opening front of CIA page, now already changed by some Mingus words. That comment, once again referring those A guy´s lines as Bruno Leicht’s, said:
The gem is you, Rab: at times prosecutor without a proof of what you say, at times judge with no court to pronounce your condemnatory sentences, but almost always with good taste. Thanks for this interesting set.
Enough is enough, told the A guy to himself. Why assuming a defensive position when there was not a fucking proof of what the certain B guy was incomprehensibly upholding?
These are the facts. Now discussion is open. This A guy will appreciate any comments on this sad, unpleasant subject, and to make it easier, here they are some taking off questions:
1. Has the B guy to prove what he says before anything?
2. Has the A guy to shot up his mouth just because CIA is the B guy’s place?
3. Is intuition a reason enough to accept an as wrong as irremovable position as the one taken by the B guy?
4. If the A is right, has finally the B guy to say, alright, I was mistaken, sorry, man, let’s forget it?
5. Has the A guy, even he has right on his side, to go back to the lurk mode and that’s it?
There is no need to add that the B guy is Rab Hines, and the A guy it’s me, Alberto Cos.
Just a final quote: I’d never heard of that certain Bruno Leicht until the day Rab said that name.
Whatever thoughts you kindly express they will be taken onto good consideration.
Thanks in advance,
Albert.-

Whether you are or aren't Leicht - and I could catalog the similarities - or are or not Luiggi or the ghost of Coltrane, or the Flac Avenger, there is absolutely no question that your behavior matches the classic definition of troll.
You even proudly sign yourself off as "trolly" and "trollishly"
http://rapidshare.com/files/122414162/cos.rar
So it doesn't matter at this point who you are - and nobody really cares. What is obvious and unarguable is that your behavior NOW is that of a troll.
Look at how you've degenerated a great, intelligent interaction and discussion into a self-justifying argument that concerns nobody but you and puts you on center stage and in the spotlight.
But you're not a troll, right?
I put a lot of time, effort, and money into this site, and I am increasingly aware that my time is spent with childishness like this - damged little egos with hurt feelings - unsolicited avengers to Russian forums, intrigues and personal comments substituting for the inability to discuss MUSIC like a grown man.
I spent a crazy amount of time yesterday deleting old links to make room in my Rapidshare account to post the newer things I got.
And for what? What's the payback for even more work keeping this place going? Childishness from some self-important non-contributing "person" like the above?
I was even thinking that any link trolling might be welcome, because it is time-consuming to remove them myself. I assure you that any link killing hurts me less than anybody. I still have the CDs.
So, perhaps I should thank you - because when I close this place in disgust, or make it an invite-only site, or whatever I decide to do, at least people can see from the donkey's mouth what kind of shit I have to put up with just to bring the best music in the best form I can.
I have been wondering for a while now why I bother. You've helped me more than you realize.
You've had your say, I've had mine. Leave another comment if you must - a trolls ego always commands them to have the last word.
But this shit is over now.

Anything instead of explaining your strange and offensive attitude.
Anything instead of apologizing.
Now is other's turn. Discussion is still open here or by e-mail.
In any case, thanks for trying.

You're right, this is awfully tiresome, but you're not who's been taken by another who is not you, as you're not who has been treated unrespectfully never mind how good is Mr. Hines job. So let me remind you this 1945 poem normally attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) which gives the clue to more than one aspect of what's happening in here:
"First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me."
@ innefable Rab
You can say "this shit is over now" over and over again, but the main end of all this was not to let your attitude and behaviour behind the lines unnoticed to all CIA participants -never mind the grade of their implication. It was for sure you were to show the manners you show and, in consequence, no one went to speak freely -not here. So let's let it down.
Thanks for give us the exact image that mirror you look in reflects.

Sorry for the inconvinience, but as CIA contributo you had to know. Thanks, Albert.-
Hi, I'm a friend of Brew. He has absolutely nothing to with all that, posted by Alberto.
On the contrary: "Hines" is finally revealed as being an anal stalker and pedophile, who has chased Brew for more than three years, got revealed, and is now on the run.
